Amazing Grace

from The Greatest Wish by SaltyPaws

/

about

words written in 1772 by the English poet and Anglican clergyman John Newton.
Hymn tune "Eventide" by the English organist William Henry Monk. 1861

lyrics

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretched soul just like me.
Once I was lost, but now the way I've found,
Once I was blind, but now I truly see.

Twas grace that taught my broken heart to fear,
and grace it was my deepest fear relieved.
How precious did that peaceful grace appear,
the very moment that I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares
We have already trials overcome
Tis grace hath brought us safe thus far
And precious grace will always lead us home.

When we've been there ten thousand years or more,
All brightly shining as our timeless sun,
we've no less days to sing god's praise
then when we did when 'ere we first begun.

SaltyPaws is a sailing acoustic duo, living aboard their catamaran, sailing and singing the Atlantic eastern seaboard. You'll hear guitar and 5 string banjo, spiced with harmonica and concertina. Wherever the boat is in port, you'll find Bentley and Jim joining a jam, at an open mic, or busking a street corner. ... more
